Job Description Hours of Work : 7a-7p\n Days Of Week : 2\n Work Shift : PRN (United States of America)\n Job Description : \n \n PRN Tier 3 Requirements \n - Four (4) shifts per pay period \n - Three (3) weekend shifts per quarter \n - Two (2) MHS recognized holidays* per calendar year \n \n \n Your Job: \n Registered nurse renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients. Works closely with NICU and L&D RNs to provide care for the newborn from birth until 2hr transfer to post-partum, continued care for boarder babies, and monitoring of transitioning newborns. \n \n Provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). \n \n Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System. \n Your Job Requirements: \n • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing \n • Current Basic Life Support Certification \n • Current license to practice nursing in Texas or eligibility to do so \n • Work experience: 2 years RN experience \n • Work experience: 1 year in L&D or NICU with delivery newborn care experience \n \n \n \n Your Job Responsibilities: \n \n Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building. \n \n Assumes responsibility for the nursing components of the patient/family/significant other educational process. \n \n Communicates to the team, co-workers, patients, and family members and evaluates understanding of informational manner. \n \n Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, self, coworkers, and facility. \n \n Ensures complete, accurate, and timely written communication of patient information. \n \n Provides a therapeutic environment through safe, accurate, and timely medication and IV administration. \n \n Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance and for professional growth and development. \n \n Utilizes the nursing process to ensure quality patient care is provided throughout the episode of care. \n \n Other duties as assigned. \n \n Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is a 294-bed, full-service acute-care hospital serving North Texas and certified as an Advanced Primary Stroke and Heart Attack Center by The Joint Commission.
