Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor and delivery, ensuring safe and supportive birthing experiences. Collaborate with obstetricians, family practice physicians, and lactation consultants to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs throughout labor and delivery.
• Assist healthcare providers with childbirth procedures and emergency interventions.
• Educate patients on labor progress, pain management options, and postpartum care.
• Support lactation consultants and ensure new mothers receive proper breastfeeding guidance.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in medical records.
• Maintain a sterile environment and comply with infection control protocols during all procedures.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current RN license in the State of Minnesota.
• Possess current BLS and NRP certification.
• Have a minimum of 1 year of full-time LDRP experience.
• Complete Fetal Heart Monitoring course preferred.
• Possess 1 year of MedSurg experience.
• Demonstrate strong clinical skills in labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
