Maintenance Technician

This role focuses on maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, installing, and upgrading industrial machinery and control systems in a heavy industrial steel environment. The Maintenance Technician works with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, supports safe and reliable production, and contributes to a strong safety-focused and team-oriented culture on a union-represented third shift.

• Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, install, and upgrade industrial machinery and control systems to support reliable production operations.
• Read, edit, and create PLC ladder logic to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Maintain production equipment, including both mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Follow and support a preventative maintenance program, performing scheduled PMs on machinery and documenting work as required.
• Work with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions.
• Perform MIG and stick welding, burning, and cutting to complete machinery repairs and modifications.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, including 480V and 3-phase systems, AC/DC circuits, and various voltage levels.
• Interpret and use electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints to guide maintenance and repair work.
• Maintain a safe work environment by consistently following safety procedures and contributing to a strong safety culture.
• Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement.
• Use personally owned tools to perform daily maintenance tasks effectively and efficiently.
• Support upgrades and improvements to machinery and control systems as the facility grows and expands.

• At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, or a minimum of 3 years of experience combined with technical schooling.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with a preference for experience that is 50% or more on the electrical side.
• Hands-on experience working with 480V, AC/DC systems, and 110V, 220V, and 480V circuits.
• Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems in an industrial environment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
• Proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, including 480V and 3-phase systems.
• PLC troubleshooting experience, including working with PLC ladder logic.
• Basic welding skills, with MIG or stick welding preferred, for machinery repair and fabrication.
• Ownership and regular use of personal tools suitable for industrial maintenance work.
• Ability to work safely and consistently follow established safety procedures in a heavy industrial environment.

• Experience repairing cranes in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Experience working on conveyors, stamping presses, reduction mills, slitters, and presses.
• PLC programming experience in addition to PLC troubleshooting.
• Prior experience in a multi-craft maintenance role within a union shop environment.
• Familiarity with industrial steel manufacturing or similar heavy industrial operations.
• Comfort working on off-shift or third shift schedules.

This is a direct-hire, multi-craft maintenance position in a union shop, working primarily on third shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The role includes off-shift work with a shift differential and an additional bonus program for off-shift hours. The facility is a heavy industrial steel environment that is clean and well lit, but can be noisy due to stamping presses and other production equipment. The workplace is highly safety conscious, with a strong safety record and a culture that prioritizes safe work practices. The team environment is close-knit and collaborative, with approximately 120 employees and a family-oriented culture where people support each other. The setting involves working with industrial machinery, 480V and 3-phase electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding equipment, and requires appropriate industrial work attire and adherence to safety and personal protective equipment requirements.

This is a Permanent position based out of Warren, OH.

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $76960.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
