Elections Assistant

The City of Rogers is seeking to fill a temporary Elections Assistant position to support the City Clerk through the 2026 General Election. This position will primarily consist of preparing election equipment for the upcoming election, overseeing the early voting process the 18 days leading up to the November 3rd General Election, and other administrative duties as assigned. The Elections Assistant must perform duties in a non-partisan manner and use technical and analytical skills to perform a variety of administrative functions. The City is looking for individuals who are well versed in election administration, government processes, and interaction with residents. 

Location and hours: 
Work will be performed on-site at City Hall, 22350 S Diamond Lake Road, Rogers, and on-site at the City’s Community Room/Fire Station I, 21201 Memorial Drive, Rogers.

Work hours will be Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with some flexibility. Occasional evenings, weekends, and overtime may be required.  


About this position:
This is a limited-duration (temporary), full-time, non-benefit-earning position. The successful candidate will start on October 5, 2026, and is expected to end on November 6, 2026. The pay for this temporary position is $25-$30 per hour, depending on qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

·       Prior experience in election administration in the State of Minnesota.

·       One or more years of experience in an administrative/clerical role.

·       High School diploma or equivalent.

·       Valid Minnesota driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience:

• Using the Statewide Voter Registration System (SVRS).

• Performing data entry from paper and/or electronic documents into a computer system.

• Providing in-person and/or over-the-phone customer service to the public.

• Working with Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Outlook, Word, etc.

• Knowledge of basic policies and procedures related to elections.

• Knowledge of using different computerized systems/databases.

• Ability to:

• Lift materials up to 25 pounds.

• Follow instructions completely and accurately.

• Work in accordance with Minnesota statutes and rules.

• Understand basic elections policy and procedures.

• Demonstrate teamwork skills by working with a diverse group of co-workers.

• Meet daily deadlines.

• Use problem-solving techniques to complete daily work.

• Use a computer with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
