Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical Unit

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse with a strong background in Medical-Surgical nursing. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients in a high acuity unit, while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological health.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and monitor patient responses.
• Document all patient assessments, interventions, medications, treatments, and outcomes per hospital policies.
• Participate in daily rounds and communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on managing conditions and prepare them for discharge.
• Monitor post-operative care, assessing for complications and providing necessary support.
• Ensure patient safety by following protocols for infection control and other safety measures.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies and provide immediate care for life-threatening conditions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience required.
• Minimum 1 year of travel experience preferred.
• Unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Ohio.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.
• Experience in a high acuity unit with mentoring/charge experience preferred.

Schedule

Shift: Straight Nights, 7 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday. On-call requirements as per unit needs, with the expectation to arrive within 1-hour if called in.
