Note: this position entails travel to job sites at least 25% of time. Most travel will be local to the Houston area, although some job sites will require overnight travel. The Project Manager is responsible for managing complex projects with Detailing teams and multiple products and vendors from estimating to project completion. They will cultivate a positive customer service environment while maximizing profits for Nucor Rebar Fabrication. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:Review contract documents/drawings and coordinate detailing efforts to supply World Class products and servicesProvide total contract management of each project assigned, including cost effective coordination of the detailing, scheduling, and delivery of products and services while ensuring that Nucor Rebar Fabrication fulfills contractual obligationsCoordinate project requirements with the contractor's representative as well as with the engineer and/or architect using Nucor Rebar Fabrication's contract management guidelinesReview and process changes to the project based on the scope in accordance with the company's change order proceduresLead the change order process on assigned projects concluding in the acceptance of the change order by the customerInterpret and explain plans and contract terms to teammates, field operations, and customersRepresent the company in project meetings as neededWork with Sales Service Supervisor to help control the financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interest and simultaneously maintain a good relationship with customersFormulate reports on work progress, costs and scheduling to update leadershipFrequent travel to jobsites and customer locations inside and outside of the territories assignedFrequent Nucor office visitsMinimum Qualifications:Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field OR three (3) years of experience as a rebar detailer OR demonstrated construction project management experienceAbility to apply ACI codes and CRSI standards requiredPreferred Qualifications:At least 3 years of experience detailing rebar projectsStrong mathematical skillsAbility to handle a variety of projects simultaneously and manage time/meet deadlinesEffective leadership skills; ability to coordinate own and others' actionsExcellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills necessaryCritical thinking skills and the ability to use all applicable toolsExperience in customer relations and resolving problems or disputesA basic knowledge of contract law, standard business practices and human relationsWhat You Need to Know:Job site visits will be requiredProtective equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, etc. must be worn when on the worksiteWork schedule may include hours beyond the normal business dayNucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace
