Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level IV NICU position requiring 2+ years of NICU or combined adult critical care/NICU experience.

Details

• Level IV NICU setting at a teaching hospital, with willingness to also cover Adult floor and ICU units
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours from 19:00-07:30
• Weekend shifts as needed by the unit
• Floating within the hospital required, no floating to sister hospitals
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Current RRT certification
• BLS and NRP certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Washington State Respiratory license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Adult critical care and NICU combined, or in NICU (Level 3/4) alone
• Adult critical care experience alone does not meet requirements
• Teaching hospital experience required
• LTAC and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency jet ventilator, and high frequency oscillator
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment such as Bubble CPAP, ECMO, and oscillating ventilators
• Proficient in airway management, suctioning, and arterial blood gas interpretation
• Experience with Servo U ventilator

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and NICU settings
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports
• Perform chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and tracheostomy care/management
• Manage medication delivery via nebulizers, MDIs, and aerosol setups
• Care for patients with conditions including ARDS, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and pneumonia
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week and cannot be requested during orientation week
• Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• Scrubs may be any color; scrubs provided for OR personnel
