This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC surface grinding equipment to finish high-precision components holding tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will have experience working with hardened tool steels, interpreting technical drawings, and maintaining high-quality standards in a fast-paced tooling environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC surface grinding machines for precision mold and tooling componentsRead and interpret blueprintsGrind components to tight tolerances and surface finish requirementsSelect and install grinding wheels, tooling, and fixtures as requiredPerform machine offsets, program edits, and troubleshooting as neededInspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, indicators, and height gaugesVerify dimensions and maintain quality documentation throughout productionWork with hardened tool steels and other specialty materialsPerform routine machine maintenance and keep work area clean and organizedFollow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standardsOher duties as assignedQualifications1+ years of grinding or precision machining experience preferredExperience operating CNC surface grinders in a tooling or mold manufacturing environmentAbility to read and interpret blueprintsExperience grinding hardened tool steels and precision componentsStrong understanding of precision measuring instruments and inspection methodsAbility to maintain tight tolerances and high cosmetic standardsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyManual dexterity required for handling precision tooling and measuring instrumentsComfortable working in a manufacturing environmentAbout NyproMoldNyproMold is a leader in precision mold manufacturing, supporting the medical, consumer, and industrial markets.
