Certified Medication Aide

The Certified Med Aide provides support and guidance in a residential group home setting for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This role involves assisting with daily living skills, ensuring the comfort and safety of residents, and supporting their medical, nutritional, and personal care needs. The Certified Med Aide works collaboratively to create an environment that promotes independence, growth, and emotional well-being. Responsibilities:

• Assist individuals in developing important daily living skills and life activities.
• Create a supportive environment that encourages learning, growth, and independence.
• Help individuals identify and achieve personal goals to enhance their quality of life.
• Monitor the comfort, safety, and well-being of residents, ensuring their medical, nutritional, and personal care needs are met.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to individuals served.
• Assist with general housekeeping duties including meal preparation, laundry, and maintaining a clean living environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and individuals served to promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

• Certified Med Aide credential (CT Med Aide required preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid U.S. driver's license where applicable.
• Ability to perform frequent physical activities including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, push/pull up to 40 pounds, and safely transfer up to 50 pounds.
• Minimum age of 18 years.

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or in similar residential care settings.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and advocate for individuals served.

• Work occurs in a group home residential environment providing 24-hour care.
• Physical demands include frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting.
• Commitment to inclusive practices and respect for individual uniqueness is essential.

• Day, evening, or night shifts available, including 5-8 hour shifts plus every other weekend.
• Weekend position available with 3-12 hour shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
