The Opportunity


We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to serve as a primary technical authority for high-voltage Transmission and Distribution (T&D) line design. In this role, you won't just be modeling; you will be safeguarding California's energy future. From hardening the grid against wildfires to supporting emergency restoration and mentoring the next generation of engineers, your expertise will directly impact the reliability of power delivery for millions.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Act as the Lead Engineer for complex structural and line design analysis, providing modeling expertise across the T&D spectrum.
• Advanced Design: Perform and review pole foundation designs for both new builds and critical infrastructure upgrades.
• Quality & Safety: Oversee rigorous QA/QC processes to ensure every design meets or exceeds stringent safety and utility standards.
• Field Integration: Partner with construction teams to resolve real-time design challenges, conduct field inspections, and lead engineering efforts during emergency restoration events (storms/wildfires).
• Mentorship: Guide and develop junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to California GO95, NESC, and ASCE standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure: Active California Civil Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Technical Expertise: Deep experience in Transmission & Distribution line engineering, specifically structural modeling and foundation design.
• Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-Caisson , and AutoCAD.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of California GO95, NESC, and ASCE codes.
• Field Experience: Proven ability to support construction teams and conduct site inspections in a utility environment.
• Leadership: A track record of mentoring less-experienced engineers and leading cross-functional project stakeholders.

Location: Pomona, CA (Hybrid)

Duration: 12-Month Contract (High potential for extension)

Salary: $90 - $110 hr/ DOE
