Rate Range: $35-$40/Hr Job Description: The claims contract attorney position is not a practicing lawyer position. The role is limited to the implementation of a compensation plan. The requirement for the candidates to be members of the bar is simply to ensure the required level of experience and qualification. We have an immediate need for attorneys who will be critical members of a project team responsible for handling product liability class action litigation and mass tort matters. These are not eDiscovery document review positions. Responsibilities: The attorneys will perform various duties including but not limited to: Analyzing claim documents. Preparing detailed responses to sometimes complex written inquiries of claimants and counsel. Fielding sometimes complex telephone inquiries from claimants and counsel. Receiving training, direction and oversight from project directors, project managers, project coordinators, and/or other project team members. “Best-in-class” customer service is expected to be provided to both internal and external clients. The highest levels of professionalism, responsiveness and quality of work are required. Qualifications: JD from an accredited law school (foreign law degree may suffice) Active license in good standing in at least one Canada jurisdiction Litigation experience preferred Class action and/or mass tort experience a plus Attention to detail Ability to multi-task Flexibility Customer service approach French/English Bilingual (fluent in speaking, reading, and writing) Top 4 Required Skills: Attention to detail Effective communication Ability to work independently French/English Bilingual (fluent in speaking, reading, and writing) Non-benefitted (other than those mandated under state or federal law).Please note that this position does not include paid time off benefits.
