About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ Years of ICU Experience License: State License in Michigan Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Open heart experience - Comfortable with floating to ED and Step down Description: Collaborates with physicians to provide a comprehensive plan of care aimed at returning patients to optimal health. Provides bedside nursing care and carries out medical orders effectively. Delegates to and oversees functions of nursing support staff. Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of care plans. Assumes a leadership role, integrating evidence-based knowledge into practice. Facilitates and participates in patient conferences. Identifies and addresses ongoing patient teaching needs by coordinating with relevant resources. Takes responsibility for professional growth by seeking educational opportunities. Teaches and guides both professional and ancillary personnel. Mentors new employees and students. Functions as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement and task delegation. Communicates relevant information in an understandable and effective manner. Demonstrates organizational skills through effective planning. Implements a strict attendance policy that supports patient needs and staffing coverage. Attendance strikes will be applied for absences, late arrivals, and failure to complete shifts. Extenuating circumstances will be reviewed case-by-case. All responsibilities are focused on maintaining high-quality patient care.
