Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician

Job Overview The Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Technician will work at the 3M Nevada, MO site, supporting manufacturing equipment and production lines. Responsibilities Diagnose, test, repair, and adjust AC and DC motors and drive systems, including pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems, control loops and PID loops, and industrial controllers such as PLCs. Perform minor installation and modification of control and power wiring up to 480 V AC, ensuring compliance with NEC, OSHA, Intrinsically Safe and explosion‑proof wiring standards, and modifying DC elementary drawings as needed. Read, interpret, and modify AC and DC elementary drawings and wiring diagrams according to 3M practices. Execute preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubrication and equipment servicing, following P‑M route sheets or manuals. Use metal‑joining techniques (arc, acetylene welding, brazing, soldering) and fabricate or repair equipment, light metal and wood construction, painting, and general maintenance work. Operate shop equipment including hand tools, portable tools, and machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and saws. Skills and Expertise Required High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of industrial manufacturing technician experience in a private, public, government, or military environment, or a technical degree in an engineering‑related field (Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, Robotics & Automation, etc.). Desired Experience with an Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance and Automation. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven team and follow safety protocols such as Lock Out/Tag Out and NFPA 70E Arc‑Flash Safety. Knowledge of PLC and automated manufacturing equipment. Ability to use common electrical and tolerance‑measuring devices, read mechanical drawings, and follow technical manuals. Compensation The starting rate of pay is $29.87 to $31.44 per hour. This range reflects a good faith estimate and may vary based on relevant factors.
