PARK MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT - INLAND EMPIRE DISTRICT / MOUNT SAN JACINTO STATE PARK (RIVERSIDE COUNTY)


This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.
The reporting location for this position is Mount San Jacinto State Park. This position will work under the direction of the Park Maintenance Chief II. This is a very diverse assignment full of challenges including maintaining, improving and repairing numerous facilities including trails, picnic sites, camp sites, and other infastructures. We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, dependable, and dedicated person to become a member of our crew. The incumbent will be responsible for all facility maintenance and housekeeping tasks throughout the Sector. The incumbents work schedule will be Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered. This position is designated as not telework eligible.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Working Conditions


Outdoor work is common. Moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. Moderate exposure to hazards and physical risk, which requires following basic safety precautions. Typical work activities involve frequent and prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Required to lift/push/pull up to 60 pounds. Physical work is primary part of job.
