About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE Certification Required Must-Have: Labor and Delivery experience required Description: Hiring process includes an interview with the clinical team. The unit consists of 8 bed LDRP and 1 OR suite. There are approximately 35 deliveries per month. The facility follows AWHONN guidelines for ratios. RNs are required to titrate drips, including Oxytocin and occasional magnesium sulfate. A charge nurse is present who takes an assignment. Each shift includes 1 OB tech. Anesthesia is available only if running an epidural. CPAP is common for babies awaiting transfer, while a vent is rare. RNs read their own strips using Phillips monitors. Shift schedules allow for self-scheduling. Weekend requirements include 3 full weekends in a 6-week period. Holiday requirements include 1 full summer holiday and 1 full winter holiday. There is a call requirement of 3 shifts in a 6-week period, with rare floating to other units. The dress code consists of provided blue scrubs. Unit-specific orientation is provided for 2 shifts. The facility may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment. The charting system used is EPIC.
