SUMMARY

A Crew Member performs traffic control and flagging activities as needed; follows safety rules and regulations in all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones, and other warning devices; duties may vary according to job assignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directs motorists by flagging them away from worker activities, moving equipment, and oncoming traffic.
• Set-up signs, cones, etc. around work areas to divert traffic.
• Maintains worksite equipment use.
• Makes sure traveling public is always safe.
• Coordinates with crew leads on daily work plans/locations.
• Works with crew leads or officers to ensure job tickets are accurately completed.
• Coordinates with officers on maintaining work zone.
• Relays information to officers/crew leads regarding team issues.
• Completes final walkthrough to ensure worksite equipment is collected.
• Complete daily paperwork accurately and timely.
• Works with officers for additional equipment or staff as needed.
• Assists with setup and breakdown of worksite.
• Maintains visibility outside of vehicles.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must have ability to follow all safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment.
• Without supervision must be able to set up and perform a flagger position at job sites based on site plan and or manager/contractor directions.
• Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule – weekends required at some locations.
• Ability to operate a 2-way radio.
• Ability to provide the highest level of customer service to all customers.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to demonstrates a strong commitment to safety.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Requires standing & sitting for prolonged periods of time, up to 8 – 12 hours a day
• Requires lifting up 50lbs
• Requires using hands to handle, control or lift objects
• Requires reaching with hands and arms for up to 14 hours a day
• Requires being outside and exposed to environmental conditions
• Requires being in traffic and construction environment
• Requires repetitive movement
• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, moving equipment, machinery parts, moving traffic, fumes and airborne particles.
• Exposure to reasonable noise levels
• Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less

Incentive:

• $500.00 sign on bonus after 90 days of consistent employment and qualifying conditions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months experience as a flagger is required.
• Excellent attendance, dependable transportation, and good work ethic required.
• Must have valid Tennessee Flagger Certification Card.
• Must have clean driving record
