Position Title: Advance Practice Provider Director, Women andInfants Department: Department of Obstetric and Gynecology, and Neonatology Job Summary: The APP Director, Women and Infant in partnership with departmentleadership is responsible for the vision, strategy, direction, and performanceof various domains to include: administration and leadership, workforceplanning and utilization, scope of practice and regulatory oversight, ambulatoryand inpatient clinical practice, professional performance, development/trainingand other programs, and processes of central APP support. In partnership withphysicians, nursing and operational leaders, the Director, Advanced PracticeProviders provides system leadership to meet the strategies, goals, andperformance targets of the institution's mission, strategic plan, and APPworkforce needs. The director has oversight of the Advanced Practice providersand their functions as expert clinicians within their defined scope of practiceassuring performance of selected tasks and services in collaboration with the Departmentof Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Neonatology Physicians. Reporting: TheAPP Director, Women and Infant reports to the chair of their respective serviceline. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a liaison between practicing APP staff and supervising physician Serve as a liaison between APP staff and Medical Staff Office for credentialing and privileging Collaborate with the Acclaim Executive APP Partner with department administrator and physician executive for alignment with departmental goals Management of all Women and Infants advanced practitioners including but not limited to: Ensuring all licensure and certifications are active Appropriate credentialing for scope of practice for all APPs Conflict resolution Serve as the APP representative in Women and Infants Peer Review and operational meetings Develop, implement and sustain process and quality improvement programs within the Department of Women & Infants Participate in research and publication activities Develop or promote continuing education opportunities to maintain staff education and competencies Participate in regular staff rounding Participate and complete yearly evaluation for all APP staff Responsible for management of Advanced Practitioners regarding their individual performance and overall Advanced Practice program. Selects, trains, motivates, supervises, and evaluates assigned staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities, while providing optimal service to both internal and external customers Has oversight of department protocol and use of these protocols by employees for patient treatment. Works in close partnership with leaders for the cohesive oversight of the processes and staff involved ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care. Develops effective internal controls that promote adherence to applicable state/federal laws, and the program requirements Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes and flow for Women and Infants and suggests or implements appropriate changes to improve work effectiveness, productivity and efficiency that support the overall goals of JPS, Acclaim and Women and Infants Service Line Works closely with the Department Administrator to develop and monitor the annual budget in the areas of salaries, materials and supplies, educational and paid time off to ensure that the department has the necessary funds to carry out established goals and objectives. Assists in developing, implementing, monitoring annual goals and objectives for the Women and Infants Service Line that support the missions and objectives of JPS and Acclaim Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer (internal as well as external) satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals and mission of JPS and Acclaim Performs other job related duties as assigned Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in science discipline or healthcarerelated field Master's Degree in Nursing or equivalent master’s leveleducation as Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurse Practitioner or Physician'sAssistant 2 years as an APP actively practicing with programmanagement Preferred Education and Experience: Previous experience in related fieldof specialty Management and project implementation/management Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training: Current licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners orequivalent from licensing board in the State of Texas Or Active PA License and Active PA board certification Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Location Address: 1500 S.
