About the Position

Job Title: Ortho RN - Nights Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience required. License: Active state or compact license required. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: - Travel experience. - Willingness to float within the facility as needed. Description: Looking for an Orthopedic Registered Nurse to work night shifts. The position requires previous charge experience and patient ratio experience. Candidates should be familiar with accessing and managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, and blood product administration. Experience with central line blood draws, chest tube management, and continuous bladder irrigation is also necessary. Candidates should be skilled in managing cardiac drips, administering medications like heparin and insulin, and understanding isolation precautions. Experience with orthopedic trauma, oxygen administration, PCA, and managing surgical drains is essential. The RN should be comfortable with wound care, tracheostomy care/management, and caring for patients with spinal cord injuries or traumatic brain injuries. The unit has a daily census of 24 patients and generally maintains a patient ratio of 6:1. Shift responsibilities will involve collaboration with interdisciplinary support services. This role requires adaptability, professionalism, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
