Department: Cardiac Catheterization Department
Schedule : 36hrs/week - Day Shift; Plus Call Rotation
Call Rotation:
- Weekend call rotation: Friday 7:00 PM to Monday 6:30 AM
- Call is for emergency cases only on weekends and holidays; no pre-planned procedures
- Midweek call: 7:00 PM to 6:30 AM Monday through Thursday
GENERAL SUMMARY:
- The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II is responsible to assist in the performance of invasive testing and interventional procedures used in the detection and treatment of the heart and circulatory system within Cardiac Catheter, CTO and Structural Heart procedure rooms.
- They must also be proficient in the functions of Monitoring, Circulating and Scrubbing.
- Position involves working in an large facility with six dedicated Cath labs, two dedicated EP (electrophysiology) labs, and one hybrid Cath/EP lab
- Perform invasive cardiovascular procedures across a wide range of case types including heart failure management, structural heart interventions, high-risk percutaneous coronary interventions, chronic total occlusions, and diagnostic catheterizations.
- Support advanced therapies such as ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) and Impella (mechanical circulatory support) devices Work in a high-volume lab environment handling complex and acute patient cases.
- Participate in both Cath lab and EP (electrophysiology) procedures depending on lab assignment.
- Manage equipment and supplies in a fast-paced setting with multiple simultaneous procedures Collaborate with interventional cardiologists, nurses, and other clinical staff during procedures
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences (e.g., Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac or Vascular Sonography, or equivalent academic program and experience.)
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or Radiology Technologist (ARRT) with Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI) Required.
- Valid BCLS certification required/ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire.
