Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Stepdown Nurse provides specialized care to adult patients with critical cardiovascular conditions, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and treatment. This role requires adaptability and expertise in managing complex inpatient cardiac cases with a focus on patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer vasoactive drugs, antiarrhythmic therapies, and thrombolytic treatments according to physician orders.
  
  
• 
  Monitor cardiac telemetry, EKG, and non-invasive blood pressure to detect and respond to physiological changes.
  
  
• 
  Perform advanced procedures including defibrillation, cardioversion, thoracentesis, and assist with special procedures as needed.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  
  
• 
  Ensure compliance with ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications, and maintain current RN licensure.
  
  
• 
  Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the EPIC electronic medical record system.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid RN license in good standing.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac telemetry or stepdown nursing.
  
  
• 
  Be certified in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and SC RN license.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit proficiency in cardiac monitoring and advanced cardiac life support procedures.
  
  
• 
  Be willing to float to various units or facilities as required and have the ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments.
