Mental Health Technician

Provides care to patients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment. Assists patients with activities of daily living; attends to patient behavioral problems and aids in crisis intervention, as needed. Works closely with all other clinical staff to conduct various groups within the patient program. Plays an integral part of assuring that the patient program schedule is conducted as planned by the staff team.

Supervises and assists patients with activities of daily living (ADL) (hygiene, meals, laundry) as needed. Actively supervises patients in all daily activities while documenting patients' behaviors, conditions & progress in a manner prescribed by policy and clinical standards. Ensure programing is occurring according to schedule. Take and record vital signs, both manually and with equipment. Follow the therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient and maintain awareness of patient's individualized plan of care including goals and intervention.

Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Mental Health related field and two years of experience in the mental health field (psychiatric/inpatient or outpatient setting).
