Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with various sign systems
• Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
• Experience working in educational settings preferred but not required
• Exceptional active listening and communication skills
• Ability to adapt interpreting style to meet individual student needs
• Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative approach

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide signing support in classrooms, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities
• Interpret educational content, instructions, and social interactions with clarity and accuracy
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical interpreting standards
• Consult with teachers and support staff to facilitate seamless communication
• Support student engagement in both academic and social settings
• Contribute to Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, as needed
• Remain flexible and responsive to varied assignments throughout the school day
