Job Description:[External Job DescriptionJob Title: Onboarding CoordinatorLocation: Columbia, Missouri; Jefferson City, Missouri; Kirksville, MissouriDepartment: People and CultureEmployment Type: Full-time Hybrid/RemoteAbout the RoleThe Onboarding Coordinator plays a key role in creating a smooth and compliant onboarding experience for new employees, interns, and student trainees.This position focuses on coordinating pre-employment requirements including background screenings, references, licensure verification, onboarding documentation, and compliance tracking.This role works closely with candidates, hiring leaders, credentialing teams, HR, and external vendors to ensure employees are prepared and cleared for their first day in a timely manner.This is a highly administrative and operational role focused on onboarding and compliance coordination rather than recruitment or sourcing.Position Perks & Benefits29 Days of PTOEligibility for HRSA Loan Repayment eligibility requirementsEmployee benefits package – health, dental, vision, retirement, life, & moreCompetitive 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan – up to 5% match for Part-Time and Full-Time employeesCompany-paid basic life insuranceEmergency Medical Leave ProgramFlexible Spending Accounts – healthcare and dependent childcareHealth & Wellness ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Employee Discount ProgramMileage Reimbursement (when applicable)Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate high-volume onboarding and pre-employment compliance processesProcess and monitor:Background screeningsReference checksLicensure verificationRequired onboarding documentationCommunicate with candidates regarding onboarding requirements, outstanding items, and start date readinessPartner with hiring leaders, HR, credentialing teams, and external vendors to ensure timely onboarding completionTrack onboarding progress and maintain accurate records within HR systemsIdentify onboarding delays or compliance concerns and escalate issues as neededEnsure compliance with organizational, state, and federal screening requirementsSupport onboarding for licensed professionals, interns, and student traineesMaintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretionPerform additional administrative and operational duties as assignedEducation and/or Experience QualificationsHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent requiredTwo (2) years of administrative, onboarding, compliance, credentialing, or HR operations experience preferredExperience supporting background screening, onboarding, or pre-employment compliance processes preferredAdditional QualificationsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detail and accurate documentation practicesAbility to work independently while managing deadlines and competing prioritiesProficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based HR systemsAbility to build effective working relationships across departments and with external partnersExperience handling confidential information with discretionKnowledge of onboarding, compliance, credentialing, or background screening processes preferredWillingness and ability to travel as neededJoin Centerstone!
