Production Lathe Operator Requirements: What It Takes to Get on the Floor
- High school diploma or GED required; machining or tech school certification preferred.
- At least one year running CNC mills or lathes—Haas, Mazak, or Okuma experience a plus.
- Skilled at reading blueprints, following specs, and using precision tools.
- Strong attention to detail and safety every shift.
- Comfortable lifting, moving, and standing for full workdays.
What You'll Be Doing Every Shift
- Fire up the CNC and keep it cutting — no babysitting, just skill and focus.
- Read prints, check measurements, and make sure every part passes inspection.
- Tweak settings, change tools, and keep production rolling.
- Keep your station clean, safe, and running smoothly.
