Director of Revenue Cycle – Alamosa, CO

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Alamosa, Colorado
Salary: $87,817 – $122,616 per year
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week

About the Position

Director of Revenue Cycle to lead and oversee all revenue cycle functions, including Patient Financial Services, Authorizations, Patient Accounting, Coding, Admissions, Registration, Billing, and Collections.

This is a leadership-level opportunity in a rural healthcare setting . The successful candidate will optimize revenue cycle operations, improve financial performance, ensure compliance, and lead teams toward organizational goals.

Candidates must be willing to relocate to Alamosa, CO, a rural community in the San Luis Valley.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of Admissions, Registration, Coding, Billing, Collections, and revenue cycle operations.
• Monitor key revenue cycle metrics, including cash collections, days outstanding, unbilled accounts, and denials.
• Analyze revenue-related financial data and prepare organizational reports.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and audit standards.
• Approve Charge Master changes according to established policies and procedures.
• Establish controls and procedures for payments, account adjustments, and bad-debt write-offs.
• Work with third-party insurance carriers to resolve issues affecting cash flow and patient satisfaction.
• Develop tactical plans and operating budgets aligned with strategic goals.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and develop managers and supervisors.
• Drive improvements in revenue cycle performance and overall financial results.
• Serve as the primary revenue cycle contact for financial auditors.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of Revenue Cycle experience .
• 5–7 years of management/supervisory experience .
• Strong knowledge of healthcare billing software.
• Experience with Meditech, Paragon, Relay Clearance, and/or Relay Assurance is preferred.
• Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of relevant experience may also be considered.
• Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage staff, lead meetings, and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and complex healthcare environment.
