Director OF Recruitment

The University of Missouri seeks to hire a dynamic recruitment and HR professional to support the Office of Human Resources’ efforts to develop and deliver effective recruitment and retention services for the University of Missouri. The successful candidate will foster and maintain positive relationships with HR stakeholders, hiring managers, candidates and the community while providing leadership for recruitment operations, staff full-cycle recruitment, and key HR projects that support effective hiring and appointment practices across the university. This Associate Director of Recruitment will lead the recruitment operations function and support the full-cycle recruitment team in delivering efficient, effective outcomes in recruiting, onboarding and related HR services. Reporting to the Senior Director for the Recruitment Center of Expertise (COE), the Associate Director of Recruitment will work closely with recruiters, HR partners and external vendors to manage sourcing, interviewing and employment processes, support consistent recruitment operations practices, and contribute as a functioning recruiter for a manageable portfolio of work. As the Associate Director of Recruitment, the successful candidate will partner with internal constituents across the campus and larger University of Missouri System to understand strategic objectives and develop recruitment strategies that meet current and future staffing needs. The individual will also provide day-to-day leadership for recruitment operations, supervise recruitment staff, and guide process improvement efforts that support consistency, service quality and compliance. In addition, the individual will Update existing and design new recruitment process improvements, task forces, subsequent change management efforts, and help to implement new strategies for improved recruitment success for faculty and staff positions. Supervise the full-cycle recruitment team, including staff members working both directly and indirectly with the OHR Recruitment COE, by providing coaching, workload guidance, performance support and alignment with shared recruitment priorities. Lead and support the recruitment operations team to promote efficient workflows, consistent service delivery, accurate documentation, operate as the primary escalation point on recruitment decision points, and provide effective coordination across many recruitment-adjacent processes. Serve as a primary point of contact for recruitment-related vendors, supporting vendor relationships, coordinating service needs, communicating operational priorities and helping ensure vendor resources align with recruitment goals and university processes. Provide leadership for the unpaid appointments project, including coordination with stakeholders, process development, communication, implementation support and ongoing evaluation of project needs and outcomes. In addition to providing team and operational leadership, the Associate Director Of Recruitment will also serve as a functioning recruiter and must be able to Author effective job announcements and execute the job posting process for internal mechanisms and external publications/websites. Leverage recruiting resources (e.g., online, publications) and strategize search options to identify and attract highly qualified candidates; assist with spouse/partner recruitment and retention efforts. Assist in coordinating the screening and selection activities of strategic recruitments including assessments, interviews, testing, reference checks; negotiating and extending offers of employment. Stay current on trends and innovative recruiting techniques; develop ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies. Conduct follow-up calls and quality improvement studies with hiring managers/teams and new hires to continually improve upon services and experience. Maintain complete and accurate documentation of recruiting activities to support the university’s compliance obligations and efforts. Successful candidates will be persuasive communicators with exceptional organizational and time management skills. They must demonstrate customer service, collaboration, confidentiality, integrity, and sound judgment in their activities. Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications Experience supervising operational and/or recruitment teams. Experience in full cycle recruitment. Executed challenging recruitment activities in complex organizations. Experience managing large scale projects and system implementations PHR or SPHR certification and/or Certified Professional or Sr. Certified Professional. Anticipated Hiring Range Salary Range: $85,000 – 105,000 annually, commensurate to experience and education.
