Assistant Director of Business Development

Job Description
- Collaborate with practice leaders to develop and implement business development strategies for corporate practices
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights
- Manage and coordinate the preparation of proposals, pitches, and client presentations
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Lead team of direct reports, providing coaching and development to junior team members
- Oversee and analyze the performance of business development initiatives to ensure goals are met
- Provide strategic guidance on marketing campaigns and branding efforts for the department
- Support cross-departmental collaboration to ensure alignment with broader organizational goals
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on business development strategies and market positioning
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field; a secondary degree is preferred
- 10+ years of experience in legal industry including relevant practice group experience with Corporate groups (ie. M&A, Private Equity, Capital Markets, EC/VC)
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience; this role manages a team of multiple direct reports across multiple offices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner
- Ability to engage credibly and effectively with partners internationally
- Skilled professional to manage deadlines, shifting priorities, and maintain composure to work under pressure
- Capable of working in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm
