Job Summary:
An Operating Room (OR) Open Heart registered nurse (RN) is sought for a position in Long Beach, California. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care within the cardiovascular operating room suite. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Location: Long Beach, California
• Shift: 10-hour days, including call, with every other weekend (EOW) coverage and first to float eligibility
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS); Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; Experience with Cerner electronic medical record system and Surginet; Residency in California or an eligible state; Availability for 10-hour shift schedules and call responsibilities
• Preferred Qualifications: Not specified
• Float: Only within the operating room to other specialties
• Additional Information: The unit handles straightforward procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafts, aortic valve replacements, mitral valve replacements, and thoracotomies. Orientation is approximately one week or until the nurse feels comfortable. The hospital policy allows cancellation of up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
