Rooftop Loader

Position Purpose Responsible for loading, unloading, transporting, and positioning roofing materials to and from rooftops of residential and commercial sites. Coordinates with the Driver to load materials onto trucks and manually unload them using a conveyor system, while following roofing contractor specifications and protecting customer property. Maintains strict safety standards, including OSHA regulations and PPE usage. Key Responsibilities Load and unload roofing materials using manual and mechanical methods, ensuring items are handled with precision to prevent damage. Assist in assembly and inspection of scaffolding and other structures, reporting any problems or hazards. Operate conveyor belt systems (when trained) to move materials from flatbed trucks to rooftops, maintaining continuous flow to meet project timelines. Verify and reconcile material orders, ensuring correct quantities are loaded and delivered, and document all inventory movements. Provide exceptional service to roofing contractors, responding to inquiries and maintaining professional communication. Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and company protocols, using PPE and fostering a safe work environment on all sites. Coordinate with drivers and team members for efficient loading/unloading processes and support overall branch operations. Inspect delivery sites for potential hazards and assist drivers in maneuvering vehicles in tight or challenging spaces. Travel Requirements Frequent local travel within the branch delivery area using company vehicles to customer locations. Occasional travel (typically Physical Requirements Must be physically fit and capable of lifting up to 100 lbs repeatedly, standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working at heights. Requires good balance, comfortable working on roofs of various pitches, and wearing PPE including a harness. Working Conditions Work is primarily outdoors on rooftops with exposure to varying weather conditions and loud machinery noise. Requires early start times, with potential overtime or weekend shifts to accommodate fluctuating delivery schedules. Minimum Qualifications Reliable transportation for commuting. Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Ability to pass criminal, driving background checks, and pre‑employment drug test. Physical stamina to lift 80‑100 lbs. Basic math skills for inventory counts. Proficient verbal and written communication in English. Safety awareness and knowledge of OSHA guidelines, including proper PPE usage. Ability to read work orders, shipping orders, and follow verbal instructions. Ability to work on sloped roofs of various pitches and heights. Availability to work Monday through Friday, with potential overtime. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of construction materials and procedures. Proficiency in operating a forklift or similar material handling equipment. Experience in roof work, with at least one year of demonstrable experience in building materials, roofing supply, or rooftop delivery. Familiarity with conveyor systems and loading machinery. Proficiency in Spanish (in addition to English). Forklift certification. Minimum Education High School Diploma or equivalent. Certifications Forklift certification preferred.
