Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift: Nights 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Summary

The Registered Nurse practices independently and demonstrates an understanding of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role provides both routine and complex nursing care, with a focus on long-range goals and the ability to manage contingencies in a clinical setting. The nurse also assigns tasks and delegates responsibilities to other care providers to effectively manage patient care.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments according to established protocols; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and resources for support.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications:
  • BLS required (AHA only)
  • ACLS required (AHA only)
  • PALS required (AHA only)
  • RN License in the state of Texas or compact state

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with night shifts scheduled from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Additional Information

Role involves working in a Level III Trauma Center with a diverse patient population requiring care in various specialties including general OR, neuro, spine, ortho, robotic, and vascular.

Opportunities for permanent positions may be available for weekend night shifts.
