Bordelon Marine is seeking a skilled and motivated USCG Licensed Engineer to join our offshore crew. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in diesel-electric propulsion systems, dynamic positioning (DP) vessels, and offshore operations. This role is critical to maintaining vessel safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and repair all onboard mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems
- Ensure compliance with USCG regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all machinery and equipment
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and inventory
- Respond promptly and effectively to equipment malfunctions and emergencies
- Supervise and support unlicensed engine room personnel
- Communicate clearly with the bridge and shoreside management regarding engineering issues
- Participate in safety meetings, drills, and company training programs
Qualifications
- Valid USCG Engineer License (DDE Unlimited, 3rd Assistant Engineer, or higher preferred) with OICEW
- Valid TWIC, MMC, STCW, and Medical Certificate
- Strong knowledge of diesel-electric propulsion and DP systems
- Experience working on offshore supply or specialty vessels
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work an even-time (28/28 or 21/21) rotational schedule
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
