Job DescriptionThe Dental Assistant will assist the clinic dentist during examination and treatment of patients, includes helping patients remain as comfortable as possible before, during, and after treatment.Exposing and processing dental x-rays;Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, prepares materials.Providing patients with oral care instructions following such procedures as surgery or placement of a restorationMakes study models of patients teeth.Performing administrative assistance to the clinic and scheduling tasks.Assisting the dentist during treatment. Carries out other duties as assigned.QualificationsLicensed by the Texas State Board of Dental ExaminersCertificate of registration issued by the State Board for dental x-rays1 to 3 years of related dental clinic experienceMental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.Requires a valid Texas Driver's License, appropriate driving record and auto liability insurance that meets the minimum requiredAbility to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of dental care.Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.Knowledge of community patient care services in area of expertise.Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.The ability to work effectively under pressure.Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.Superior organizational and problem solving skillsAdditional Information Wellness Pointe is an Equal Opportunity, 'Veteran Friendly' Employer.
