LOCATION
DOROT is headquartered on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and the team works on a hybrid schedule. The Program Coordinator will be expected to work in the office a minimum of two (2) days a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and as needed based on program needs.

ABOUTTHEINTERGENERATIONAL PROGRAM ENGAGEMENT DEPARTMENT
DOROTs Intergenerational Program Engagement Department(IPE)operates the agencys multi-faceted intergenerational program model for families and youth in grades K-12, engaging over 2,500+ youthvolunteersannually in meaningful connections with older adults. These programs bridge the generational divide and promote greater understanding and respect between generations.Each of our programs brings the generations together to share stories and perspectives, learn and create together and value each others contributions.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Director of Intergenerational Program Engagement, the Program Coordinatoris a multi-functional positionthat performs a combination ofprogrammatic, educational,andadministrative responsibilities for DOROTs Jewish Intergenerational programofferings. The person in this rolebecomes deeply versed in DOROTs pedagogy for fostering meaningful intergenerational relationshipsthat nurtures Jewish pride and communal connection.Central to the role is facilitating DOROT group programmingand supporting partnerorganizationsin creatingidentity-forming experiences for adults and youth across generations.The ideal candidate is a passionate experiential Jewish educator who brings their innovative, creative design thinkingtoinspire enthusiasm and curiosity among program participants.
Key initiatives include:
- Community Grants:An opportunity forJewish organizations todevelopor bolsteran intergenerational initiative, supported with DOROT funding, guidance, and materials.
- B-Mitzvah Experience:Aseven-session service program for B-Mitzvah-aged youth and older adults,to engage inspirited discussions and fun activities centered on Jewish values andcommunity building, held twice annually.
- Anita K. Hersh Jewish Summer Teen Internship:Aselective, four-week programin which high school studentsjoin a diverse group of socially conscious Jewish peers to build vital connections with older adultsanddevelopleadershipskills.
- School Partnership Programs:DOROT clubs and eventsheldin schools with a Jewish lens.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Be an integral member of theIntergenerational Program Engagementteam, contributing to program design andimplementation that integrates DOROTs pedagogic core values into all intergenerational activities.
- Serve as leadfacilitator for all in-person programs, engaging cohorts of youth and older adults in a range of program offerings.
- Plan, execute,and foster the growth and success of DOROTs Jewish educational programming. This includes but is not limited to:
- Managing program logisticsand constituent communicationsincluding partnerships with schools and synagogues, parent emails,andolder adult phone calls.
- Administeringtracking systems for applications, registrations,and program attendance.
- Organizing and leading monthly orientations and informational sessionsforteens, organizations,and older adults interested in our programs.
- Reviewing feedback forms, addressing participant questions, and collaborating with staff to resolve concerns.
- Implementing recruitment strategies fortwo programs: Community Grantsand B-Mitzvah Experience in addition to updating marketing and application materials as needed.
- Support and train partner organizations and coach them to create impactful intergenerational cohorts.
- Cultivate,maintain,and deepen relationships with a wide array of schools, youth organizations,synagogues,and community partners.
- Collaborate withother departmentsincluding:
- theMarketing and Communicationdepartmentfor ongoing promotion andvolunteerrecruitmentstrategiesofolder adults, teens,and collegestudents.
- theVolunteer Services departmentfor community outreachtoidentifyand recruitolder adultvolunteers and college interns.
- theAdvancementdepartment, to identify appropriate candidatesfor media/promotional opportunities.
In addition, specifically for Community Grants:
- Contribute to the developmentof androutine updates for the community grant toolkit.
- Collaborate with colleagues on thegrantee selection process.
- Createand managea nationwide contact databaseof potential granteesand conduct recruitment campaigns.
Other:
- Collect, track, andmaintaininformation using DOROTs online database (Salesforceplatform) ; this involves routineand accuratedata entry and monthly review of statistics for both internal reports and trend analysis.
- Special projects as assigned.
REQUIREDSKILLS ANDQUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum two years ofprofessionalexperience in Jewish education building community with pre-teensand high schoolstudents
- Strong passion for DOROTs mission
- Successful track recordinleadinginclusive, engaging group experiences that foster connection and reflection
- Experience inprogram planning and coordination
- Ability to engage effectively with youth, parents, and older adults
- Strong communicationand presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Outstanding organizational skillsand ability to manage multiple projects to achieve deliverables
- Proficiencywith MS Office Suite; experience with Salesforce or another databasea plus
- Availabilityto work 14 partialSundaysper year (falland spring) at DOROTheadquarters;alternative work schedule provided during those weeks.

This position is non-exempt, and candidates can expect an annualized base salary between$54,000-$60,000commensuratewith experience.
