This is a high-autonomy leadership role overseeing the complete engineering lifecycle, including conceptualization, Basis of Design (BOD), detailed construction documents, and commissioning integration for multi-megawatt mission-critical infrastructure and hyperscale data center projects. This position requires an active licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a definitive background in high-density cooling architectures. Core Responsibilities Engineering Leadership: Direct the mechanical design engineering department, taking absolute ownership of calculation methodologies, equipment selections, and construction documents. Technical QA/QC: Establish, review, and enforce strict peer-review processes, advanced design guidelines, and scalable workflows across the mechanical design pipeline. Advanced Decision‑Making: Serve as the ultimate technical escalation point for complex thermal management tradeoffs, reliability analysis, liquid cooling integration, and risk mitigation. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with the executive team, electrical design directors, and external commissioning authorities to ensure seamless project execution. Resource Management: Optimize engineering workloads, mentor senior staff, manage department budgets, and ensure precise schedule adherence across the portfolio. Minimum Requirements (Non‑Negotiable) Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license. Candidates without a valid, verifiable PE will not be reviewed. Niche Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, with a definitive track record of designing large‑scale Data Centers or Mission‑Critical infrastructure (chilled water systems, advanced air distribution, liquid cooling, and high‑density containment). Leadership Tenure: 4+ years of direct managerial experience recruiting, scaling, and mentoring teams of technical mechanical engineers. Technical Depth: Expert‑level mastery of thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and the interaction between critical electrical topologies and cooling infrastructure.
