Job Title: Accounting Specialist

Location: Bradenton, FL (WEST Bradenton)

Pay Rate: $24.00 - $30.00/hour DOE

Hours: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Our client company is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join their growing team. The Accounting Specialist will support the accounting department by handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, job costing, and other accounting functions in a fast-paced construction environment. Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous office administration experience required
• Previous Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

The ideal Accounting Specialist is dependable, self-motivated, and enjoys working in a collaborative office environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities include:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Prepare and process client invoices, including AIA billings when applicable
• Create, record, and track lien waivers and Notice to Owner (NTO) documentation
• Process purchase orders and vendor invoices with accurate job costing
• Process check requests, manual checks, weekly check runs, and reconcile monthly credit card statements
• Assist with 1099 preparation, statement reconciliations, month-end, and year-end closing activities
• Support project closeouts by coordinating invoice approvals, coding, and resolving discrepancies
• Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation
• Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal departments to resolve accounting issues
• Assist with additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned

Preferred Experience:

• Construction accounting experience
• Sage Timberline or similar construction accounting software
• Job costing
• AIA billing
• Purchase order management
• Construction contract administration
