About the Role As a Senior Software Engineer focused on Developer Platform at Warp, you’ll build the external‑facing API layer that lets companies programmatically control payroll, benefits, HR, IT, and more. That means designing robust APIs, building OAuth flows and authentication infrastructure, webhook delivery systems, event log infrastructure and the products that make them queryable, SDk generation, and world‑class documentation. You’ll own the full developer experience, from the reliability of the underlying platform to the clarity of the docs, and be the primary interface between Warp’s core systems and the developers who build on top of them. What You’ll Do Design, build, and maintain Warp’s external APIs Build webhook infrastructure: reliable delivery, retries, failure visibility Build event log systems and the products that make them queryable by customers and partners Build OAuth and authentication infrastructure for third‑party integrations Own SDK generation and developer tooling Write and maintain developer documentation Handle technical communications with integration partners and enterprise customers Define the API platform roadmap in collaboration with the CTO You’ll Be Good for This Role If You Have built developer‑facing APIs and platforms that external developers rely on Have experience building webhook systems, event streaming, or audit log infrastructure Care deeply about API ergonomics, consistency, and documentation quality Have owned a developer platform or external API at a high‑growth startup Understand the hard parts of external APIs: idempotency, versioning, backward compatibility, and graceful failure Are comfortable being the face of Warp’s API: writing docs, talking to developers, owning the experience What You Need 5+ years of software engineering experience Experience building and maintaining public‑facing APIs at scale Experience with SDK generation or developer tooling Strong written communication skills Willingness to work from our NYC office five days a week Benefits at Warp 100% Health Coverage: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans for you and your dependents. 401(k) Matching: Start investing in your future from day one.
