Radiologic TechnologistLocation: White Plains, New YorkDepartment: WPH CAMS Womens Imaging_1Work Shift: DayWork Days: MON-FRIScheduled Hours: 11 AM-7 PMHours Per Pay Period: 75Pay Rate/Range: $48.9093-$73.3638/HRSign On Bonus: $10,000Essential Functions:Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and BehaviorsPrepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnairesAssumes responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewing completed exams for quality, completeness for the type of test orderedAssists physicians during procedures as necessaryPerforms equipment Quality assurance and calibrations as needed, orders suppliesWill be required to work in case of emergency procedures or when situations arise in the department. Works on call, holiday, overtime and/or day, evening and overnight shift coverage to help maintain adequate and safe coverage for the departmentMaintains the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to Bio Med or supervisor.Processes film/images, or prints CD's if neededPerforms routine office duties, such as answering phones, checking previous reports/ films, documents information on patients' request, Meditech or hospital RIS and PACs digital x-ray systemNotifies transport when patients are ready to be picked up or returned to floorsShows radiologist images and calls reports to the attending physician and documents communications if necessary (wet readings)May be assigned as an instructor or preceptorTreats all people/staff in a professional and courteous manner, upholding the hospitals behavioral standards.Introduces self and educates each patient or family member regarding the examination that is ordered.Knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical and psychosocial needs of different patient populations including neonate/newborn, pediatric/adolescent, adults and geriatric groupsPerforms other related duties as required, attends staff meetings and in-servicesDuties and hours may change according to the needs of the department or hospitalQualifications:High School Required and Certificate allied health education and accredited radiography school or hospital based program. Required or Associate Degree Preferred2 years of experience PreferredMust be able to work in environment with continuous interruptions (High proficiency)Must be able to assess and respond to rapidly changing situational needs of patients, department and hospital (High proficiency)Must be able to adapt in a high stress and fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions (High proficiency)Must be able to detect sounds and respond to emergency sounds/signals at all times (High proficiency)Must be able to constantly operate computer, equipment and other devices (High proficiency)Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with interruptions and attend to tasks for more than sixty (60) minutes at a time. (High proficiency)Passing advanced mammo examination/certification within one year of date of hire: Including 40 hours of training in mammography including anatomy and physiology, QA/QC and 25 mammo exams under direct supervision by an MQSA individual during the orientation process.Continuing education requirements need to be upheld to meet the standards set forth by governing bodies.
