Plant Controller Northeast Mississippi Lead Finance. Drive Operations. Influence Strategy. A well-established and highly respected manufacturing company is seeking a Plant Controller to provide financial leadership for one of its largest and most strategic manufacturing operations in Northeast Mississippi. This is more than a traditional accounting position. Position Overview The Plant Controller will oversee all accounting and financial reporting activities for a large manufacturing facility while serving as a trusted business partner to plant leadership. This individual will work closely with operations to improve financial performance, strengthen reporting, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and support strategic initiatives. Responsibilities Lead all plant accounting and financial reporting activities Manage monthly close, financial statements and account reconciliations Oversee cost accounting, inventory accounting and variance analysis Develop annual budgets, forecasts and financial models Partner with operations to improve profitability and operational performance Analyze key performance indicators and provide actionable business insights Support capital expenditure planning and financial analysis Strengthen internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance Coordinate internal and external audits Drive process improvements, automation and greater ERP utilization Lead and develop an accounting team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Five or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience Manufacturing accounting experience is required Strong cost accounting and inventory accounting background Experience supervising accounting staff ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, Infor, QAD or similar) Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities CPA or CMA designation preferred but not required Public accounting experience is a plus What Makes This Opportunity Different This organization is investing in the future of its finance function.
