Our client is an international, research-driven agricultural inputs leader with a robust global innovation pipeline . They are seeking an experienced, high-impact Product Development Manager to serve as the primary technical anchor for their expanding U.S. portfolio .

This role is ideal for a scientifically grounded agronomist who thrives on autonomy, enjoys field-level discovery, and is ready to translate complex soil science into commercial and academic success across major U.S. growing regions .

The Role You will lead the design, execution, and scientific evaluation of laboratory and field trial programs for patented crop nutrition, bio-stimulants, bio-fertilizers, and crop protection products . Acting as the primary bridge between internal R&D, commercial teams, and external research partners, you will generate high-quality data to establish unique value propositions (UVPs) and technical positioning for key U.S. crops .

Key Focus Areas

• Trial Management & ARM Execution: Design, execute, and monitor in-house, grower-field, and CRO trials across the U.S. (focusing on the Midwest/Michigan and West Coast/California) using ARM software tools for protocol creation and data analysis .

• Academic & Regulatory Engagement: Liaise with land-grant university scientists , extension services, crop boards, state/federal agricultural officials, and industry organizations (e.g., TFI, IZA, Sulphur Institute) to demonstrate product value and secure recommendations .

• Technical Translation & Content Creation: Convert soil, plant, and harvest analysis into technical literature, product data sheets, SDS, technical bulletins, and peer-reviewed scientific journal publications .

• Commercial & Portfolio Support: Deliver high-level technical training to Marketing and Sales teams, define UVPs, monitor competitive landscapes, and support state-level product recommendations and registrations .

Candidate Profile

• Education: MSc or PhD in Soil Science or Agronomy with at least 5 years of relevant experience, OR a BSc in Agricultural Sciences with 6-10 years of hands-on industry experience .

• Industry Experience: 5-10 years within crop nutrition or fertilizer companies . Proven expertise in U.S. agronomic practices and trial protocols .

• Technical Skills: Proficient in ARM software , soil/plant/harvest sample analysis, trial protocol design, and technical writing .

• Location & Mobility: Based in (or willing to relocate to) Michigan or California preferred , with readiness to travel across key regional production zones .

• Communication & Drive: Self-driven, independent mindset with strong written and verbal English skills . Ability to meet strict seasonal deadlines and navigate multi-stakeholder research projects .
