Job Summary
A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) registered nurse position is available in Lewiston, Maine. This role involves providing specialized care to neonatal and obstetric patients within a Level 3 trauma facility. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details

• Location: Lewiston, Maine
• Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts) with a schedule of 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, totaling a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Current Certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Candidates should have 2+ years of experience in labor and delivery (L&D), labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum (LDRP), and postpartum (PP) care.
• Preferred Qualifications: AWHONN Intermediate certification is preferred.
• Responsibilities: Managing a 3 couplet assignment, triage of obstetrical patients, use of external fetal heart monitoring (EFM), starting and maintaining peripheral intravenous (IV) access, administering antihypertensives and insulin drips, assisting with vaginal deliveries, recovering C-sections, evaluating APGAR scores, neonatal care including infant assessments, collecting cord samples, ID/security banding, operating radiant warmers and thermoregulation equipment, managing epidural anesthesia and pain assessments, postpartum and mother/baby care procedures.
• Equipment and Systems: EFM, IV administration, electronic health record systems including Cerner and Pwerchart/Omnicell Med System.
• Patient Population: Neonates and adults.
