Our client is an established mechanical and sheet metal fabrication company with more than 70 years of industry experience. The company operates a modern fabrication facility producing custom metal components and serves mechanical contractors, general contractors, corporations, and institutions throughout the region.

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Project Manager to oversee construction projects from initial planning through completion. This role will coordinate employees, clients, contractors, and design professionals while managing project schedules, budgets, contracts, quality, safety, and day-to-day execution.

The ideal candidate has construction leadership experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining effective relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Develop project scopes, work descriptions, material requirements, schedules, and budgets
• Schedule and coordinate project activities to meet established milestones and deadlines
• Prepare budget estimates and communicate project costs and financial progress to clients
• Monitor project expenses and address unexpected cost issues
• Ensure employees and contractors meet project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
• Manage contract negotiations, revisions, additions, and contractual obligations
• Review engineering drawings, architectural plans, specifications, and construction documents
• Collaborate with clients, supervisors, contractors, and design professionals to resolve construction, design, and operational issues
• Coordinate responses to project delays, weather disruptions, emergencies, and other unforeseen challenges
• Build and maintain productive working relationships with owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespeople, and craft workers
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, schedule, and client expectations

Qualifications

• 3+ years of leadership experience within the construction industry or a related field
• Mechanical construction experience preferred
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, architectural plans, and construction documents
• Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and contract administration
• Demonstrated leadership, dependability, and sound judgment
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and active listening skills
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain composed during demanding workloads and tight deadlines
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to work in-person in Frederick, Maryland

Preferred Experience

• Mechanical construction project management
• Sheet metal fabrication
• HVAC or related mechanical systems
• Experience coordinating contractors, tradespeople, and design professionals
• Experience managing construction budgets and project costs
• Experience working with custom fabrication and project-based construction

Work Environment

• Full-time, in-person position based in Frederick, Maryland
• Regular coordination with clients, contractors, project teams, and design professionals
• May require construction site visits and project oversight
• Active involvement in monitoring project progress, safety, and quality
