Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, offering intensive respiratory care and patient transport within the facility, as medically prescribed. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients upon discharge. The therapist conducts physician-prescribed treatments, utilizing various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer systems to deliver medications, ventilation, and oxygenation. Other tasks include performing chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, and capnography monitoring, as well as analyzing chest x-rays and conducting pulmonary function studies.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory treatments using various equipment and devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods.
• Monitor patients' oxygenation and ventilation levels.
• Conduct pulmonary function studies and assist with respiratory procedures.
• Document treatments and communicate with healthcare providers regarding patient care.
• Provide tracheostomy care and perform arterial punctures as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and manage respiratory therapy charging.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Respiratory Therapist license.
• Experience with mechanical ventilation and various respiratory equipment.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
