In addition to providing high - quality clinical services and patient education, hygienists collaborate closely with dental providers and clinic leadership to support efficient clinic operations, promote long - term oral health, and advance YVFWC's mission of improving access to care for underserved communities. Position Highlights:
- 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
- EMR system is EPIC
- $49.10-$60.76/hour DOE
- $10,000 Hiring/Retention Bonus Structure:
- At Hire: $3,000
- At 180 days (6 months): $4,000
- At 12 months: $3,000
- Bonus will be pro-rated based on Full Time Equivalency (FTE)
- At Hire: $3,000

What You'll Do:
- Provide preventative periodontal care, including scaling, prophylaxis, root planing, sealants, and application of preventative agents
- Perform expanded functions as permitted by licensure, including placing and carving restorations and managing temporary crowns
- Take and manage dental X - rays; complete periodontal charting and maintain accurate patient records
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide analgesia as needed
- Educate and counsel patients on oral hygiene and preventative care; develop dental hygiene treatment plans in collaboration with providers
- Assist providers during exams and ensure operatories and instruments meet infection control standards
- Support clinic efficiency, quality initiatives, and compliance with TJC, HRSA, and YVFWC requirements
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene program
- WA: Active Dental Hygiene License or Limited Dental Hygiene License
- CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred at a level 10
- Knowledge of standard dental practices and current hygiene concepts
- Ability to deliver care to patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- High level of manual dexterity and coordination
- Basic computer proficiency (Electronic Dental Records, Outlook, Word, Excel)
