Patient Care Coordinator

Chief Purpose of the Position The Patient Care Coordinator supports an optimal patient experience through scheduling, registration, account management, and financial coordination. This role serves as a primary point of contact for patients, ensuring accurate appointment management, billing support, insurance verification, and patient communication. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Strong customer service skills supporting patients, students, residents, faculty, and staff. Knowledge of dental terminology and office procedures preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, including professional telephone etiquette. Proficiency in Windows-based systems with accurate data entry skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs and schedules. Knowledge of patient financial ledgers and ability to clearly explain balances. Education and Experience Required High school diploma or equivalent required. Customer service experience required. Dental or medical office experience preferred. Accounts receivable and/or insurance experience preferred.
