Wellness and Benefits Specialist

Job Summary The Wellness and Benefits Specialist will lead and administer a comprehensive health and wellness program for Network Connex, coordinating plans, providing wellness resources, and partnering with stakeholders to promote healthy lifestyles. Job Duties And Responsibilities Assist in maintaining all health benefits including medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, and voluntary benefits. Support open enrollment for the company. Monitor new‑hire enrollments and manage new‑hire kit distribution. Monitor terminated employee benefits and COBRA benefits. Manage the tuition reimbursement program. Maintain and manage reporting for the 401(k) plan; audit 401(k) deferrals. Assist in preparing for annual 5500 filing. Research and prepare communications for wellness programs and resources for employees. Assist in administering short‑term disability, FMLA, and other leaves of absence. Collaborate with the safety team to maintain accurate records of workers’ compensation cases in relation to FMLA. Reconcile and maintain monthly benefit carrier invoicing with the internal finance team. Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human‑resource programs, including benefits and leave. Work closely with the HR team on various day‑to‑day HR tasks. Maintain the HRIS to ensure data accuracy and compliance. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies to ensure compliance. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time‑management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate appropriately. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of employment‑related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; advanced Excel proficiency required. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent‑management systems. Education And Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. 2–3 years of related experience preferred. SHRM‑CP credential is a plus. Spanish language proficiency is a plus. Physical Requirements Must be able to carry and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds. Must be able to speak clearly in group settings. Must sit for long periods, walk, stand, bend, and use fine motor skills such as finger dexterity. Benefits Health, dental, vision, and prescription plan with coverage beginning on the first of the month following the employee’s start date. Basic life insurance and short‑term disability insurance fully funded by the company. 401(k) plan with employer matching and immediate vesting. 10 paid holidays per year.
