About the Role:
Ballerina Restaurant Inc in Bal Harbour, FL is looking for a talented and motivated Prep Cook to join our kitchen team! This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic culinary environment where your skills and passion for food will shine. Responsibilities:
- Execute mise en place by prepping ingredients including chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning
- Follow recipes and prep lists accurately to ensure consistency and quality
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
- Assist line cooks and kitchen staff during service as needed
- Properly store and label all prepped food items per food safety guidelines
- Monitor and rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a Prep Cook, Kitchen Assistant, or similar role preferred
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe certification a plus)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
