Aecon’s rapidly growing federal business is seeking entry‑level Project Managers to oversee the planning and execution of construction projects at Department of Energy, Department of War and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facilities. In this role, you will lead cross‑functional teams, manage subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure all project deliverables meet Aecon’s rigorous standards for safety, quality, cost, and schedule. Successful candidates will assist Senior Project Managers in providing key support for the growth and success of our business unit and managing projects in the field. Citizenship Requirement This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. Applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements. What You’ll Do Here Act as a liaison with our clients, engineering partners, and field operations, ensuring seamless communication and support for our execution. Identify potential project problems or opportunities, analyze issues, develop alternatives, and select the optimal approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities. Support project leadership in compliance with project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies. Analyze project performance to ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance. Drive financial performance through accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting; ensure profitability and cash‑flow targets are achieved. Support all phases of construction, from pre‑construction planning and procurement through commissioning and closeout. Develop change orders, RFIs, and other project documentation to ensure compliance with company and client requirements. Promote Aecon’s safety culture and ensure adherence to all regulatory and environmental standards. Represent Aecon at progress meetings, client reviews, and site visits, building strong relationships. What You Bring to the Team Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, facility management or equivalent experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations/maintenance, construction, and/or project controls, with at least 3 years in a lead/supervisory role. Citizen of the United States. Ability to obtain DOE/DOD/NRC clearance as necessary. Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling (MS Project, P6), cost management, and risk analysis. Exceptional leadership, communication, and client‑facing skills. Proficiency with MS Office Suite; familiarity with project management platforms such as Procore, HCSS, or similar tools. PMP certification or equivalent professional training is a strong asset. Willingness to travel extensively and work at project sites as required.
