The position will be reported directly to a Senior Engineering Manager.This position will:Support new product development and sustaining engineering activities from concept through production launch, ensuring alignment with defined product, cost, quality, safety, and regulatory requirementsWork cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, sourcing, and supply chain teams to support product development and project executionKey Responsibilities:Review product designs, CAD models, and engineering documentation to assess fit, function, and manufacturabilityDevelop test plans and support execution of validation and performance testing activitiesApply quality engineering tools, including FMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP, during product and process developmentExecute changes in the product using change control processInvestigate product and process issues, including data collection, root cause analysis, and participation in CAPA activitiesSupport customer and consumer complaint investigations and resolution of quality issuesAnalyze product and process data to identify trends and support findings and recommendationsParticipate in tooling reviews, manufacturing trials, and production qualification activitiesMaintain engineering and quality documentation, including specifications, risk assessments, and validation recordsEnsure compliance with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements and escalate risks as appropriateTravel domestically and internationally as needed.Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering or Plastics Engineering preferred).2 plus yrs product development experience preferably with plastics.Problem Solving, Organizational, Planning and prioritization, multi-tasking skills.Basic competency with CAD (Solidworks or Creo) with ability to complete detailed review of 3D models and assessment of 2D drawings.Working knowledge of quality methods and systems, including statistics, sampling, auditing, and structured problem‑solving methodologiesUnderstanding of plastic molding and extrusion manufacturing process, capabilities and design requirements desired.Demonstrates strong interpersonal and project management skills.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Preferred Qualifications:Competencies with other materials and manufacturing technologies (e.g., metals)Experience in consumer product is plus.Experience/competency with Electronics is plus.*Please note this position will not be able to support OPT status or sponsor H1B visa.Newell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL) is a leading global consumer goods company with a strong portfolio of well-known brands, including Rubbermaid, Sharpie, Graco, Coleman, Rubbermaid Commercial Products, Yankee Candle, Paper Mate, FoodSaver, Dymo, EXPO, Elmer’s, Oster, NUK, Spontex and Campingaz.
