Vacuum Excavation Technician (Non-CDL) (Construction) Job Description: Starting pay is $21 to $35 per hour depending, on experience. We are currently hiring throughout the Columbus, OH area. These are daytime, full-time positions, and some overtime may be required. Training will be provided. No industry experience is necessary. Vacuum Excavation team members are responsible for traveling to an assigned work site to perform vacuum excavation. There are several different names for this type of work, including: hydro-excavation, potholing, keyholing and air-vac. Vacuum excavation involves soil extraction through vacuum when using pressurized water or air for breaking ground. This position requires you to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and use a company provided laptop to document the project. You will perform various vacuum excavation activities near utilities, including: core drilling, shoveling, back filling and construction labor. Previous outdoor experience is a plus. Utility and/or construction experience preferred Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed. Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expected. Must currently possess or have the ability to possess a DOT medical card.Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position). Valid driver's license and a safe driving record Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bendand stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs. Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities. Computer proficiency Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints; possess basic math skill to calculate distances.
