Clinical Colonial Heights, VA, US Salary Range: $50.00 To $55.00 Annually United Smiles Family Dentistry & Orthodontics - 723 Southpark Blvd F, Colonial Heights, VA 23834 Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-2pm We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our practice. The ideal candidate is passionate about preventive care, skilled in clinical procedures, and committed to building strong patient relationships. You will play a key role in promoting oral health and supporting the overall treatment plan for each patient. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care & Preventive Treatment Perform dental cleanings (prophylaxis), periodontal scaling, and root planing Conduct oral cancer screenings and periodontal charting Take and process dental X-rays and digital scans Apply sealants, fluoride, and desensitizing agents Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and long-term oral hygiene habits Provide nutritional and lifestyle guidance related to oral health Treatment Coordination & Documentation Review and update medical histories and patient records Collaborate with the dentist on treatment planning Document clinical findings accurately in patient management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) Infection Control & Equipment Care Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, CDC, and HIPAA guidelines Clean, sterilize, and prepare instruments and treatment rooms Qualifications State Licensed Dental Hygienist Current CPR/BLS certification Proficiency in Patient Management Software Strong communication and patient care skills Ability to work assisted and unassisted hygiene efficiently and professionally in a team environment Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods #J-18808-Ljbffr Independence Dental Services
